Accounting

This class is for students who are interested in a business degree

Accounting I is a business course that introduces the language of business using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and procedures for proprietorship and corporations using double-entry accounting.
Emphasis is placed on accounting principles as they relate to automated financial systems.
This course involves understanding, analyzing, and recording business transactions and preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial reports as a basis for decision making.

Class Experiences

Students will participate in the Microsoft IT Academy--an online technology curriculum working towards earning industry certification from Microsoft
Students will complete the Accounting Cycle for Mock Businesses
Students will compete in the H&R Block Challenge Competition
Students will participate in the Chemical Bank Financial Literacy Project/Internal Training Services
