Accounting
This class is for students who are interested in a business degree
- Accounting I is a business course that introduces the language of business using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and procedures for proprietorship and corporations using double-entry accounting.
- Emphasis is placed on accounting principles as they relate to automated financial systems.
- This course involves understanding, analyzing, and recording business transactions and preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial reports as a basis for decision making.
Class Experiences
- Students will participate in the Microsoft IT Academy--an online technology curriculum working towards earning industry certification from Microsoft
- Students will complete the Accounting Cycle for Mock Businesses
- Students will compete in the H&R Block Challenge Competition
- Students will participate in the Chemical Bank Financial Literacy Project/Internal Training Services
