Automotive Technology
The Automotive Technician program at Coloma Community Schools provides students with comprehensive instruction in basic automotive service and repair. Recognized by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), this program ensures students gain the skills necessary for a career in the automotive industry. In Michigan, all auto technicians must be certified in the areas they work, and our program covers key areas including safety and shop equipment, shop operations, engine performance and tune-up, suspension and steering, automotive brakes, and electrical systems. Students will benefit from a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on experience, preparing them for ASE (National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence) certification testing. Upon successful completion, students will be ready to pursue advanced technical training or enter the automotive repair industry in an entry-level position.
