Class Description 

This class is a must for students who are going to major or minor in a business degree! Accounting I is a business course that introduces the language of business using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and procedures for proprietorship and

corporations using double-entry accounting. Emphasis is placed on accounting principles as they relate to automated financial systems. This course involves understanding, analyzing, and recording business transactions and preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial reports as a basis for decision making. Students will participate in the Microsoft IT Academy--an online technology curriculum working towards earning industry certification from Microsoft which validates mastery of Microsoft office skills. Davenport University articulation is available.
