Welcome to the Comet Band page!
The Comet band program upholds a tradition of excellence at Coloma Community Schools and serves students in grades 5-12. Students involved in the program learn so much more than how to play an instrument. They learn lifelong skills including:
Teamwork
Critical thinking
Goal setting
Problem solving
Accountability
Creativity
Self discipline
As students progress through school and begin to look at careers, they will see a connection between employability skills and what they have learned through their membership in the band program.
The Comet Bands are under the direction of Mrs. Kaitlin Keck. Mrs. Keck holds two bachelor's degrees from Western Michigan University. One in Instrumental Music Education, and one in Instrumental Flute Performance. Mrs. Keck has been teaching band for nine years and this is her fourth year as a Comet.
